Theory of the Second Practice
Here is an example from an old practice task post on the Allison DuBois forum where the question was: "I've mentioned my friend G, he has a problem right now, what is it?"
One answer:
The answer was: His golden retriever had cancer in his mouth and his wife was completely distraught about putting the dog down. Of the five people who responded, four of them independently got the word "gold" or "golden."
Practice is harder than natural. This is the 2nd lesson. Natural is when you just get a really strong "vibe," a "knowing" which make us suspect we are psychic in the first place. But now we are "doing it" ourselves and in front of people. The reason to practice is to be able to recognize the very subtle way that information comes - like a breeze you cannot feel, something drifts in.
Do the mind-clearing exercise (or another if you have a favorite) and then read The Second Task. The focus in this one is to let go and just be aware - write down whatever comes to you just as it comes. If it feels like you are thinking, let go, clear your mind and wait.. this is a listening exercise.
